We Call It Super Weekend!
Overview
Super Weekends are scheduled twice a year so that the USA Council Board and USA Council Committees have an opportunity to work on the here and now but also work toward the future.
The USA Council of Serra International schedules three Board Meetings during the Serra year. The first of these meetings is scheduled to occur during the Serra International Convention.
The second and third meetings occur in September and January. The September and January meetings are characterized as "Super Weekends."
In addition to the USA Council Board meeting, fourteen USA Council Standing Committees meet to discuss, plan, and initiate the programs and resources used at the local Serra Club level and throughout the Council to insure the active participation and success at all levels that is so very essential to fully realizing our mission.
Essential!
Super Weekend has become an integral and essential function of the USA Council devoted to fulfilling our mission. Super Weekend provides opportunities for growth and new ideas simultaneously, throughout the course of the weekend there are formal and informal opportunities for Serrans to better understand what Serra's work is all about.
Moreover, Serrans share their expertise and talents in many helpful and valuable ways so that the programs and resources available to our Serra Clubs are effective and timely in their work for vocations.
All Serrans are encouraged to attend Super Weekend. Typically, the USA Council Board, USA Council Committee members, District Governors, and District Governor Elect attend the meetings at Super Weekend. However, the USA Council wants all Serrans to know that everyone is welcome. Everyone can contribute their expertise and talents to the USA Council Committees so that these committees provide practical advise, programs, and resources to the local Serra clubs.
Super Weekend is typically scheduled for September and January. Super Weekend is scheduled in Chicago, Illinois and the meetings are conveniently held at a location near our airports.
