Overview

The USA Council Board has given the very important responsibility to develop appropriate training manuals and training seminars for all leadership levels of the USA Council to the USA Council Leadership Development Committee. The USA Council Leadership Development Committee schedules one District Governor Planning and Training Conference each year typically in February.

The District Governor Planning and Training Conference has evolved over the last ten years since the USA/Canada Council and later the USA Council of Serra International was established. This conference has become an integral and essential opportunity for District Governors and Regional Directors to learn what it means to a District Governor or Regional Director and prepare to assist and support Serra clubs in fulfilling the mission of the USA Council of Serra International and to accomplish the objectives of Serra International.

The District Governor Planning and Training Conference provides opportunities for learning, planning, and new ideas simultaneously, throughout the course of the weekend there are formal and informal opportunities for District Governors and Regional Directors to better understand the role, mission, organization, and structure of the USA Council and Serra International.

Moreover, the conference is a sharing of expertise and talents in many helpful and valuable ways so that the District Governor and Regional Director are better able to assist in the programs and become resources to our Serra Clubs so that the Serra clubs are effective and timely in their work for vocations. This is not your ordinary conference. The weekend is brisk and the agenda is packed with valuable information.
