Brought to you by the USA Council of Serra International Vocations Committee
The USA Council of Serra International Vocations Committee invites you to use a NEW TOOL that is inexpensive and easy-to-use. The "Proclamation of Appreciation Certificate" is made be personalized for each individual and Serra club and best of all can be made quickly and easily in your own on your personnel computer.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Your Serra Club may use this process to affirm Religious Women and Men as well as Priests and Deacons with just a few changes. (See paper samples and patterns on on the left.) We have made some wording changes, i.e. we changed "Anniversary of Ordination" to "Anniversary of Profession of Vows," and, we recommend a more feminine border on the certificates for the religious women.

Instructions
The Proclamation Certificate is a simple MS Word document. There is nothing complex about it. If you can write a letter on your computer, you can produce this simple message of appreciation:
The font (print style) we have primarily used is Times New Roman (a common font).
Note: For the more fancy title and the first letters of each paragraph we have used Amazone BT, (if that font is not available on your computer it will come up as another font style. Most PC's have various script styles like Edwardian Script ITC available.) It is easy to mix and match various fonts to make your work look professional.
All you need to do is highlight the letter or word you wish to change, go to "format" on your toolbar, then to "Font" on the drop down menu. Select the font style and size you want and hit "enter".)
You will want to create a sample or pattern on your own computer so you can make up a new certificate any time a priest, brother or sister celebrates their Anniversary.
Step 1:
You can download/open sample documents for priest, sister, or brother from the list above (or you can type the entire document yourself.)Step 2:
Insert the name of the person being honored by either, highlighting the name presently on the document and retyping it, or if preferred, typing in a rule mark __________ and hand printing the name using calligraphy.Step 3:
Insert anniversary date and year in the appropriate place.Step 4:
Insert your Club's name and your President's name on the bottom of the certificate.Step 5:
Print on bordered paper, which you can purchase at your local quick print shops, office supply shops, and stationary stores.
Note: If you have a personal color printer available, you may choose to use plain or parchment style paper without a pre-printed border so that you may choose your own border style from the page border dialog in your word processing program. This is lower cost alternative to print or add a page border to your certificate.
Step 6:
Obtain signature of your President, attach gold Serra seal and present to your honoree. A frame might be an appropriate addition where you may insert each subsequent year's presentation. The gold foil Serra logo label is available from the USA Council of Serra International. We believe it adds elegance to the document.
